UPDATE — April 9, 2026: The Ceasefire Is Already Breaking Down
Two days after Trump’s ceasefire announcement, the deal is collapsing in real time.
Israel has resumed bombing Lebanon. Senator Chris Murphy posted: “Israel must stop these attacks. No matter how incompetently negotiated this ceasefire was, we should all want it hold. But that means all parties to this regional war — the U.S., Iran, Israel, and Iran’s proxies — must stand down.” The Strait of Hormuz remains effectively closed. Murphy’s update on the waterway: “3 ships. The Strait is not open.”
Meanwhile, the insider trading evidence has gotten worse. A single trader has now placed winning bets around sixteen consecutive war and ceasefire announcements. Sixteen for sixteen. Zero losses. $170 million in total profit. On April 7 alone, a $51 million oil short was opened hours before Trump announced the ceasefire. The oil market collapsed on the news. The position cashed out. The Associated Press reported that a group of newly created Polymarket accounts made “highly specific, well-timed bets” on the April 7 ceasefire, netting hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional profits.
Sixteen consecutive winning trades on war and peace is not talent. It is someone who knows what is coming before it comes.
The ceasefire was announced. The market moved. The money was made. And now the ceasefire is falling apart — which means the next announcement, in whichever direction, will move the market again. The house always wins when the house knows the schedule.
“A whole civilization will die tonight.”
That’s what the President of the United States posted on Truth Social on April 7, 2026. Easter Monday. 125 million Iranians waited to see if they would survive the week. Lebanon, Yemen, Gaza braced for blowback nobody could predict. Pakistan rationed fuel. Taiwan’s semiconductor supply chain teetered. The Strait of Hormuz — chokepoint for 20% of the world’s oil — stayed closed.
Ninety minutes later, Trump announced a two-week ceasefire.
Oil crashed 20% in a single session — from $117.63 to $91.05. The biggest drop since COVID. Dubai crude is down 40% from its March 19 record high. Stock futures surged. The Dow jumped 967 points.
On the blockchain, you can see exactly who got played. A trader tracked by Lookonchain — address visible, trades public — had made $2.67 million on three consecutive oil longs. He went long again, $20.38 million, seven hours before the ceasefire. He didn’t know. Oil plunged. He’s now down $3.62 million. All his previous profits wiped out.
Somebody knew. He didn’t. That’s the game.
This was not the first time.
The Pattern
On March 24, fifteen minutes before Trump posted on Truth Social that the United States had engaged in “very good and productive conversations” with Iran, $580 million in oil bets were placed in a single minute.
That’s not a typo. One minute.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate crude contracts surged from 733 to 2,007 in sixty seconds — $170 million. On the Brent crude market, trades exploded from 20 to over 1,600 in the same window — $150 million more. Bloomberg reported it. The BBC confirmed it. The Independent investigated it.
At the same time, Senator Chris Murphy flagged a separate, larger position: $1.5 billion in S&P 500 E-mini futures purchased five minutes before the post, alongside $192 million in oil futures sold.
Murphy posted: “$1.5 BILLION. Let me say it again — a $1.5 BILLION BET. Bigger than any futures purchase made at the time. 5 minutes before Trump’s post. Who was it?”
Nobody answered.
Oil dropped 14% within minutes of the post. Stocks surged 2.5% before the opening bell. Whoever placed those bets made between $300 and $400 million in a single morning.
Then Iran denied the talks had ever happened. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran’s parliamentary speaker: “No negotiations have been held with the U.S. Fake news is used to manipulate financial and oil markets and escape the quagmire in which the U.S. and Israel are trapped.”
The White House said the administration “does not tolerate any official illegally profiteering off of insider knowledge.”
The STOCK Act fine for congressional insider trading is $200.
TACO
Business Insider coined a term for this: TACO. Trump Always Chickens Out.
Here’s how it works.
Step one: Trump escalates. Threatens to bomb power plants. Threatens to destroy bridges. Threatens to end “a whole civilization.” Oil spikes. Defense stocks spike. Stablecoin demand surges. The board positions long.
Step two: The deadline approaches. Insiders open massive short positions on oil and long positions on equities.
Step three: Trump de-escalates. Announces a ceasefire, a pause, “productive conversations.” Oil crashes. Stocks surge. The shorts print hundreds of millions.
Step four: Repeat.
March 21: 48-hour deadline. Extended.
March 23: 5-day deadline. Extended.
March 26: 10-day deadline. Extended.
April 5: 48-hour deadline. Extended.
April 6: 8pm deadline. Extended.
April 7: “A whole civilization will die tonight.” Ceasefire announced 90 minutes later.
Every extension. Every threat. Every de-escalation. The positions are placed before the announcement. The profits are collected after.
CNN reported that one person has made over $1 million since 2024 from well-timed bets predicting U.S. and Israeli military action against Iran. A mystery gambler made $400,000 on Polymarket by predicting the removal of Venezuela’s president — hours before U.S. special forces swept into Caracas.
Polymarket and Kalshi have since announced new insider trading restrictions to “block politicians, athletes, and other relevant people” from trading on their platforms. They wouldn’t do that without a reason.
Where Is Congress?
Senator Murphy asked “$1.5 BILLION — who was it?” on March 24. It is now April 9. No investigation has been opened. No subpoenas have been issued. No names have been named.
The Senate voted 53-47 to authorize a war nobody declared. The House voted 212-219 to stop it and failed by seven votes. Forty-three senators decided one man could threaten to exterminate a civilization without a war powers debate.
The STOCK Act — the law that supposedly prevents congressional insider trading — carries a maximum fine of $200. Two hundred dollars. For trading on information that moves billions.
Todd Blanche — Trump’s personal criminal defense lawyer in three cases — is now the Acting Attorney General. He held up to $485,000 in cryptocurrency when he issued the memo disbanding the National Cryptocurrency Enforcement Team. His Bitcoin rose 34% before he “divested” by gifting it to his adult children. The Campaign Legal Center has filed a criminal complaint.
The man who killed crypto enforcement while holding crypto now runs the Department of Justice.
Who is investigating the $1.5 billion bet?
Nobody.
The Architecture
The bets are the surface. Underneath them is an architecture.
The GENIUS Act — signed July 2025 — forces every stablecoin to buy U.S. Treasury bills. 550 million holders earn zero interest. By law. Tether keeps 100% of the yield. $10 billion last year. $141 billion in Treasury reserves. Bo Hines co-wrote the law at the White House over seven months, resigned August 9, and was hired by Tether as CEO of its US subsidiary ten days later. His firm donated $1 million to Trump’s PAC. The website is scrubbed.
Howard Lutnick’s Cantor Fitzgerald custodies the $141 billion. Cantor holds a 5% equity stake potentially worth $25 billion. Lutnick is the Commerce Secretary. His name appears in 250 Epstein documents.
Zach Witkoff — son of Trump’s Middle East peace envoy — is CEO of the Trump family’s stablecoin company. The UAE owns 49%. On April 2, the younger Witkoff said publicly that “the most-traded asset on Hyperliquid is actually tokenized oil.” His father negotiates the war. His company tokenizes the commodity that spikes every time the negotiations fail.
War drives panic. Panic drives stablecoin demand. Stablecoin demand buys Treasury bills. By law. The yield flows to the board. The ceasefire crashes oil. The shorts pay out. The next escalation drives it back up. The architecture profits in both directions.
The Question
“A whole civilization will die tonight.”
That wasn’t a warning. That was a market signal. Ninety minutes later, the ceasefire dropped. Oil crashed. The positions cashed out. The TACO trade completed.
In 2008, Michael Lewis had to reconstruct the scam after it collapsed. The people who sold the mortgage derivatives knew they were garbage, bet against their own products, and got bailed out by the Treasury Secretary who used to run their firm.
This time you don’t have to wait. The law is public. The bets are documented. The BBC reported the $580 million. Senator Murphy reported the $1.5 billion. The revolving door is measured in calendar squares: seven months writing the rules, ten days walking to the company.
2008 was the Big Short. This is the Big Grift. And the TACO trade proves they profit from both the war and the peace.
Meanwhile, something happened this week that hasn’t happened in the entire history of the post-1971 financial system: Treasury yields went UP during a crisis. Not down. Up.
In every panic since Nixon closed the gold window — 1973, 1987, 2001, 2008, 2020 — investors fled to U.S. Treasuries. Prices rose. Yields fell. The dollar was the world’s mattress. That was the deal.
The deal is breaking. Foreign central banks are SELLING Treasuries to defend their currencies against the oil shock. Bloomberg confirmed both legs of the petrodollar system are breaking simultaneously for the first time since 1974: less oil sold in dollars, fewer dollars recycled into U.S. debt.
For the grifters, this is the best possible outcome. Rising yields mean Tether’s $141 billion in Treasury bills earns MORE every single day. The architecture doesn’t need the petrodollar to survive. It was built to replace it. The GENIUS Act creates mandatory Treasury demand from 550 million stablecoin users — the replacement buyers for the foreign central banks that are leaving.
The old system needed Saudi Arabia to recycle petrodollars into Treasuries. The new system needs panic. Any kind of panic. War panic. Ceasefire panic. Oil up panic. Oil down panic. The GENIUS Act captures the flow regardless of direction.
That is the grift. Not the insider trading. Not the $580 million bet. Those are symptoms. The grift is the law itself — a 22-word statute that turns global instability into automatic, mandatory, tax-free profit for the board.
And the ceasefire doesn’t stop it. Israel is still bombing Lebanon. Over 1,400 dead. More than a million displaced. The Iran pause is two weeks. The architecture is permanent.
I documented the full architecture — 125 sources, every name, every dollar, every law — in my book Lied to Death: The Global Corporate Mafia. Available on Amazon Kindle ($4.99). The complete investigation with mechanism map, player map, and regulatory ledger — plus the free full manuscript — is at arnmenconi.net.
A 22-word law that changed the world, money, petrodollars, and the biggest grift in history.

That is just obscene. What evil, evil people.
Great piece. I knew there were a lot of corrupt things happening but didn’t really understand the extent of it until I read this.
